This is a small sampling of the work I’ve mostly designed and built, from finished furniture to more utilitarian pieces created for myself and clients.

A bit about me…

My name is Randy Garbin. I build stuff. I fix things. I’d like to be your new handy-man.

After a long time staring at a computer, I decided I would rather make things that actually cast a shadow.

For as long as I can remember, I had a knack for fixing things and sometimes making them better. I had to fix them because, although I didn’t know it at the time, we were poor.

Whenever Mom had to get something repaired, she often found herself at the mercy of unscrupulous contractors who took advantage of the fact that she was a woman who probably wouldn’t know better. As a result, I grew up learning how to figure out things for myself.

After a career as a creative, I began to collect and acquire the necessary tools for a fully-equipped wood shop, where I honed my skills further. Living in an 80-year-old house allows for plenty of practice. Since that time, I’ve made furniture, built shelves, hung 200-pound doors, and completed dozens and dozens of handyman tasks for my family and our friends.

I do basic woodworking, restorations, home maintenance, and furniture repair. I specialize in the weird job.

I’ve also designed and built mission-style end tables, kitchen cabinets, Adirondack-style patio furniture, bookshelves, birdhouses, and if you have an odd project, I’m your guy.

I don’t do house painting, climb on your roof, or anything that requires a permit.

If it’s something I can’t do, I’ll tell you.

(I built this website too!)
